#ECHO AUDIOFIRE 4 DRIVER FOR MAC DRIVERS#
Personally I'd rather an interface with rock solid drivers and easy to use software, over one with mindblowing specs but glitchy or difficult software. But you can still get stuff done with cheaper interfaces.
The ability to hear what we are EQing and mixing better. Most analog to digital interfaces these days are very good. If your music is good enough the quality will shine through. Which I had much the same reaction on getting them upgraded, as I did at switching to the Apollos!īut again, the choked hazy indistinct sound of the stock MOTU 828 MKII is really only perceived that way in reference to better boxes. And those are the Black Lion modified units. Both my own and other musicians projects got mixed that way and still sound good to me. Well I made hundreds of things on the MOTU boxes over the years. Yeah, nice flex Calaveras, not what the OP asked. It was like my speakers got subwoofers and supertweeters. There is a width and depth to the sound that is amazing. I have to say that when I switched from two MOTU 828 MKII boxes to the Apollos it was like changing from instant coffee to a boutique single origin hand roasted blend. I currently use a pair of UAD Apollo 8 interfaces. I've owned several MOTU interfaces, Echo, NI and once even a Lexicon. It was a while ago but I think the overtones you refer to were created by running a signal from the oscillators into the RS 35, and then patching the V/Pitch back into the 95es (can't remember which input). Thanks for the kind words - it is indeed a pair of 95e oscillators. apparently the mic pres have a nice boutique coloration to them. The Steinberg UR22 MK2 looks good too but its too new to register under "dirt cheap but sounds good" but the older mk1 can be had for around 70e. This needs to be reposted, just to demonstrate the echo audiofire 4: how do you get these overtones out of it? is that an rs-95e vco? i love the way it sounds, i have two of them. excellent audio quality and excellent whale sounds, courtesy of analogue systems. Im just now listening to your bandcamp release "global resurfacing" and it sounds excellent. FWIW, I've used the Echo Audiofire 2 in the past and still use the slightly larger Audiofire 4
